New & Old: August 12-14

Week 11 of La Venta is up and what I have for you is pure summer goodness:

The Summer chaise, includes the chaise with couple & singles sits for two, a footstool with sits for one, and a Rose colored tray with Coffee and Croissants for two. Breakfast, Brunch or just being by yourself for a little pampering, the summer chaise has all the comofrts of home, without ever leaving it!

The Summer Chaise set is $100L for the La Venta even only - it will go to $150L after Sunday Midnight.

Also new in the main store are three versions of Nana's Sideboard. They are all slightly different, but hopefully remind you of all the treasures you found while visiting your own grandmother and the things she held onto, dishes that remind you of her long after she's gone. It's a keepsake and a memory keeper.

It comes in worn, blue and dark, with different dish sets. The sideboard itself is only 3 prims, but all the elements are removable to have a few or add your own. The set is Trans/No Copy/ No Mod so it's perfect for gift giving.

And this week at the Cookie Jar sim, you can get, My Lord's gothic Chair for $50L. Last week I offered you the lady's version, this week it's for the master of the house. Carved wood, highly polished, a brocade cushion for My Lord's Tender parts, simple elegance.

The BoHo Pavillion was originally only available at the Cookie Jar sim stall, but now you can pick it up at all stores. The Pavilion has multiple sit options for singles or couples, every cushion offering a different set of sits; solids for men, lace edged for women, floral for couples. Sparkly party lights and hanging baskets decorate the frame and there's a touch on/off light for after the sun goes down. Whether you're having a conversation with friends or want to get cozy with a lover, the Boho offers you a colorful, whimsical hideaway.

And if it's me time you are looking for, just to be alone or to daydream, the While-A-Way wishing well may be just what you are looking for. You can sit and dream, or make a wish. There's a couple of wee birdies to keep you company and flowers to brighten your day. Parts of the well are removable so if the 30 prims makes you nervous, the well itself is only 5 with the water; and the birds and vines, flower rings and even the bucket draw can be removed to fit your prim count.

You can see the well and test out the sits at the mainstore.

Also, at all stores, you can find this month's dollarbie: a pair of bright colored geranium hanging baskets with an extra length of chain to fit any porch or kitchen. Red geraniums pop up happily from a nest of trailing pothos vines. Guaranteed to make you smile and they are trans so you can share one with a friend.

Newness and changes

I'm seriously behind on this end of the store; I love to blog but I love to build and there's only so many hours in the day. What have I got for you? Lots of newness.

First, my partner's store, Piddler's Perch, has shifted from the shared main store in New Toulouse Algiers to her own space and brand new store. As we both add items, there's space and prim counts to consider and Rowan is going like gangbusters with adding to her offerings. So do yourself a favor and visit Piddler's Perch at Emerald Cove, where she has lots of new things, and lots of opening gifts to offer.

And what do I have for you? A lot. July's Dollarbie is a Truck tire planter with sits. Come on, it's the epitome of Trailer decor and this one has been painted and planted and is wide enough to make a good perch for watching the summer days roll by and soaking up some rays. It's a little primy at 21 prims but oh, so fun.

This weekend only, you can pick up two of my favorite items for half price or less at the New Life Store only: The Home & Garden Market is sponsoring the sale of "My Favorite Things" this weekend.

The first offer is the birdie blue desk set with chair and rug; this is a low prim favorite, that tucks nicely into a corner room or porch. Animated sits and a soothing blue color. The desk itself usually goes for $100L but it's half proce so you get the chair and rug for free. And at 4 prims total for the set, pretty much everyone has room for it no matter the size of their inworld home.

I like all these sofas but for some reason the color combo in the black and violet sofa is especially soothing. It's great for lounging about while you do other things (like making blog posts). It's only $50L this weekend only.

Speaking of The Home & Garden Market, I'm there for the next couple of weeks as part of the summer garden event. My offering is a Wrought Iron garden bench with sits for singles and couples, set around a lovely Magnolia Grandiflora tree. The bench itself sits up to 4 people, wth single and couple poses. The tree is one of my favorites and moves gently in the breeze, whit blossoms swaying and spanish moss trailing. At the market, it's only $75L. half the price it will be when it comes off it's exclusive premier there. And while you are there, check out ofther offering from my Southern Garden collection. I'm a southerner (USA) by birth and one of the things I love about the south is the amazing array of blooming plants and trees that are native to the area and that thrive there. At the Market and at my shops you can find Forsythia, Rose of Sharon, Clematis, Honeysuckle and Crepe Myrtles. Most of them are no copy but are priced as low as $25L so you can make quite an impressive southern garden of your own for not many lindens.

Just released this weekend are two items that lean more toward the Goth/Medieval end of the style spectrum. First up is a classic Scribe's Desk with animated stool. The desk opens and closes, comes with a quill pen you can wear and is filled with oddities and manuscripts.

The second is a bit of indulgent whimsy; The Throne of Thornes is a sculpted chair with four animated sits; thorn bedecked vines weave together to make and intimidating looking seat, and yet keep it elegant and fluid. An embossed red leather chair pad and back protect your regal person from the worst of the sharp pointy parts so you don't actually need armor to sit in it, but, the sharp spikes are certainly handy in keeping plotting underlings on their toes.

New June Releases and the Home & Garden Market

Where I live, summer starts with coolish mornings and moves into sultry hot afternoons, where sunglasses and a glass of something cold are required. It's also time for nearly every sun-loving thing that blooms too bloom, and the air is filled with the scent of roses, magnolias, gardenias and the sharper scents of rosemary bolting and mints making the air taste like my favorite accent to a glass of honey-sweet tea.

Whatever is laying around seems to become the perfect planter for whatever is looking for space to grow, be it old tires, an old wheelbarrow or that old milk can you picked up at the local flee market.

To salute that overgrown and lovely spirit, I've put out three new planters, top filled metal milk cans, where wildflowers grow and ivy sways gently in whatever breeze it can find. The white is a little chipped and worn, the patina has turned a little green, or has rusted outright.

.................

I'm also participating in the premier two week market for the new Home & Garden Market. Two markets per month that run two weeks with at least one exclusive item and price for the market. The premier them was Country Kitchen, and I have a spring green table and chair set for you at only $100L. Four chairs with 5 fun sits from Ajna Animations, one of them for you host or hostess to work on slicing vegetables for lunch or dinner while talking to friends, and a towel to wipe the sweat from your face. Once the market is over for this two weeks, the price will double, so get it now while it's fresh and cheap!

Last but not least I've set out five new single av sofa's (I'm working on sofas you can share with friends.) I found some old wrought iron bedframes, tucked them into a new frame and used some worn fabrics to cover the comfy pillows. Shown here is the Autumn version: rich brocade ticking mattress and some overstuffed accent pillows. There are five other versions at the shops, from pastel country, to a rich red paint and black leather if you are more inclined to the goth side of things. Come take a sprawl and see if this isn't the perfect sofa for you to watch a lazy summer day go by.

Summer Patio sets

They might be a little worn, cushions showing a few stains, but they are sturdy, meant for outdoor use and offer both comfortable sits and a bit of shade for those hot summer days. So pull up a chair, share a burger and beer with some friends or some wine and a little music and watch those faint fair breezes catch the canvas umbrella and make it billow. There's no better way to watch a summer day slide into evening.

Four sizzling colors to brighten your patio or deck: Spring Floral, Tequila Sunset, Punked Purple or Faded Baja.

Weekend Salvage Reboot

Well, apparently Blogger's meltdown a few weeks ago ate my first crack at this and so we'll start anew. You still have a day to pick up May's dollarbie before it goes up to it's regular price of $55L.

On June 1, I'll release the 8 prim herbal terra cotta planter pictured below. It's one of a couple of versions of planters I'm putting out. This one features three herbs (Chamomile, Sage and Rosemary) as well as a trailing Wandering Jew.

The pot itself is a deep bowled terra cotta, dug out from someone's old garden. Roots and old vines are permanently imbedded in the clay in a kind of organic lace. I did try using a wire brush to get it off but I was afraid too much scrubbing and the pot itself would break, so I just sanded it a bit and resealed the clay to make it sturdy enough for a porch.

There's four shops open now; main store in Transylvania and the small shop in Gallinas. The stores in New Life and the newest shop in New Toulouse Bayou, lean more toward the garden salvage end of it, but I'll be rotating stock through all four. Also Check out my partner In New Toulouse Bayou - Piddlers, for less salvage and more trendy furniture.
